us if we can provide certain services. We’re proud of that. The most important thing to me is the client relationship,” Milone says. “We truly deliver the best service we possibly can. Our re- lationships with our clients are what they are because we are so honest about what we can do and what we can’t do. Our two big- gest hospital networks have been clients my entire career. They’ve changed because health care changes constantly, but the relation- ships remain the same.”
The Ever-Changing Nature of Health Care
As the health care industry evolves so do the needs of the clients, notes Milone. Years before the dawn of Obamacare, health care be- came increasingly challenging and diverse. “We stay as educated as we can because it continues to change,” says Milone. “We continue to be intricately involved on various boards and with the educa- tional organization that supports health care finance.”
In addition to keeping up with continuing education seminars, the team is in constant communication with local agencies – those making the important decisions affecting the firm and its clients.
Many of the staff at Miller & Milone are also certified application counselors, so they can assist their clients with health coverage op- tions through the health insurance marketplace.
As one change in the law can have a domino effect, it is necessary for Milone and her team to be prepared. With that in mind, two of the firm’s attorneys are tasked with staying up-to-the-minute on any changes in regulations, processes or laws.
Respect for the Team
Milone simply loves what she does and cannot envision a time when she won’t be practicing. “I really love the colleagues I work with. While my job can be frustrating at times and difficult, it’s worth it,” she explains.
While she hopes the firm continues to grow, she believes it will never become national as the firm is so focused on service. “I have to also keep in mind the aspirations of my colleagues, though,” she says. “There isn’t anything that I take on without quite a bit of plan- ning. It’s not just my life that is impacted; their lives are as well. I want everybody here to love what they do when they come here. At the end of the day, beyond client servicing it’s about the life that we live outside of the office that’s important.”
