A New Name and a Shared Vision for Long-Established Cape Cod Firm

n 1979, when Steve DeYoung graduated from Su olk University Law School, many of his classmates thought it was an odd decision for him to shun a metropolitan practice in Boston and head back to the rural sand
dunes of Cape Cod. For DeYoung it meant the opportunity to make his mark in a place he called home, being a native of Yarmouth. “ ey thought I was crazy,” mused DeYoung.
A er a brief stint as an associate with a local lawyer, DeYoung struck out on his own. Russell Wilkins, originally his landlord, ended up becoming his law partner in 1983. In the 1980s the Cape was just beginning to show hints of its future. When they started out, Wilkins and DeYoung probably never envisioned the union would span over three decades and become one of the largest law rms on Cape Cod.
