Three Weil Attorneys Named to Dallas Business Journal’s Inaugural List of North Texas’ Top 35 Dealmakers

International law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP today announced that Dallas-based partners James R. Griffin, Courtney S. Marcus and John E. Quattrocchi have been named to the Dallas Business Journal’s 2017 Dealmakers list. This first-ever ranking recognizes fewer than three dozen of the Dallas/Fort Worth area’s most outstanding mergers and acquisitions (M&A) legal and business professionals.

A panel of Dallas Business Journal and Texas Lawbook editors identified the top deal-making attorneys, private equity professionals and investment bankers in North Texas based on their breadth of experience in a specific deal-making niche, and on their M&A activity in the region over the past three years. The honorees will be featured in a special report publishing March 31, and recognized at an awards reception April 5.

“Jim, Courtney and John are accomplished attorneys with in-depth knowledge of complex M&A issues, so it’s no surprise they earned recognition among the region’s top deal-making attorneys,” said Rodney Moore, co-managing partner of Weil’s Dallas office and partner in the Firm’s Corporate Department. “Their extensive experience representing prestigious clients in their most high-stakes matters is, in part, why our Firm maintains one of the strongest transactional practices in the nation.”

Griffin, a M&A partner in Weil’s Dallas Corporate Department, represents both private and publicly held companies from a broad range of industries in mergers and acquisitions and related transactions, including public and private company mergers, stock acquisitions, asset acquisitions, tender offers, divestitures, auction transactions, defensive strategies and going-private transactions. He routinely advises boards and special committees in their most critical strategic matters, including in the M&A context.

Marcus, co-managing partner of Weil’s Dallas office and partner in the Firm’s Banking and Finance practice, concentrates on representing private equity firms and consortia, public and private corporate borrowers, and financial investors in connection with a wide variety of financing transactions. Over the past few years, Marcus has played an integral role in some of the energy industry’s most high-profile financings and restructurings, including representations of exploration and production, midstream and energy services companies.

Quattrocchi, a partner in Weil’s Dallas Corporate Department, advises clients on a wide range of complex mergers and acquisitions and private equity transactions, including cross-border transactions, and he provides advice on general corporate matters and corporate governance issues. He also represents debtors on various corporate matters in connection with reorganizations and sales under the Bankruptcy Code. Quattrocchi has extensive experience across various industry sectors, including communications, energy, media and entertainment, sports, technology and transportation.

Weil’s Dallas office, which is celebrating its 30th year in Texas, brings the best of Wall Street-quality legal services to Dallas and the Southwest. The office is known for its sophisticated transactional, complex commercial litigation, and bankruptcy and restructuring practices, and is also widely recognized for its civic involvement and its extensive pro bono service to the Dallas community.
