Scott M. Delaney & Jack R. Shirley Join Weil’s Dallas Office Corporate Department

Scott M. Delaney and Jack R. Shirley have joined international law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP as Dallas-based associates in the firm’s highly regarded Corporate Department.

Prior to joining Weil, Delaney was an associate at a well-known, Oklahoma-based law firm where his practice focused on representing public and private companies and private equity firms in mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, commercial finance transactions and general corporate matters. Additionally, he represented lenders in syndicated and single-lender term loans and revolving credit facilities to borrowers engaged in a wide variety of industries. Prior to law school, Delaney worked in the finance and accounting department at Chesapeake Energy Corporation.

Delaney earned his J.D., with honors, from The University of Oklahoma College of Law, with Order of the Coif recognition. While in law school, he was the executive articles editor of the Oklahoma Law Review. He previously completed his M.B.A. in corporate finance and investment management, and his B.B.A. in finance, at The University of Oklahoma.

Prior to joining Weil, Shirley was an associate at an international law firm based in New York, where he represented various private and public entities in private and public company acquisitions and dispositions. Maintaining a broad-based M&A practice, Shirley also gained experience in corporate restructurings and general corporate matters.

Shirley earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and previously completed his B.S., summa cum laude, in social work with a minor in Chinese at Brigham Young University, Idaho.
