Christopher A. Ruhman Joins Houston Office of National Construction Firm Peckar & Abramson

Peckar & Abramson, P.C. is pleased to announce that construction litigation and transactional lawyer Christopher A. Ruhman has joined the firm’s Houston office as senior counsel.

An experienced complex commercial litigator and advocate, Ruhman has represented general contractors, corporate and individual owners, developers, subcontractors, vendors/suppliers and material manufacturers on projects including the new construction, renovation and build-out of large commercial properties and complexes, multi-purpose/multi-use projects, offices and warehouse spaces, multi-family projects including high-rise and low-rise condominiums and apartments throughout Texas.

His transactional real estate practice includes preparation and negotiation of sales and acquisition, lease, escrow and financing agreements for commercial, mixed use and residential projects, preparation of joint venture and limited partnership agreements related to real estate purchases and development, the negotiation with governmental entities for the rezoning and reclassification of land parcels and the preparation of non-traditional financing agreements and associated documents. Before joining Peckar & Abramson, Ruhman was formerly an associate with Hirsch & Westheimer P.C. in Houston.

Prior to attending law school, Ruhman was drafted into the National Football League by the San Francisco 49ers, and later played with the Cleveland Browns and Denver Broncos. He is currently the president of the Texas A&M University Lettermen’s Association and a member of the NFL Retired Players’ Association and the NFL Alumni Association. He is active in the community in a variety of organizations including the Montgomery County chapter of the American Heart Association, Beyond Batten Disease Foundation and the Montgomery County Children’s Safe Harbor.

Additionally, Ruhman is a member of the Texas Association of Defense Counsel and admitted to practice in the State of Texas and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University and a Juris Doctor from Valparaiso University School of Law.
