The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel Elects Daniel McCarthy as New Fellow

Wick Phillips Fort Worth partner Daniel McCarthy has been elected as a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC). Established in 1949, the ACTEC is a national organization of approximately 2,500 lawyers peer-elected to membership by demonstrating the highest level of integrity, commitment to the profession, competence, and experience as trust and estate counselors. ACTEC members, “Fellows,” are the best and brightest in the trust and estate practice, with decades of experience representing and advising families. “Wick Phillips commends Dan for being recognized as an ACTEC Fellow. This peer recognition is a result of years of professional service, experience and leadership in the trusts and estates area,” said Wick Phillips’ managing partner David Drez.

With more than 20 years of experience, Dan leads the tax planning and estate planning services group at Wick Phillips. He focuses his practice on federal income and estate and gift taxation matters, particularly focusing on pass-through entities. Dan works with entrepreneurs, family businesses, and wealthy families to facilitate business succession planning, defer and eliminate income tax, minimize estate taxes, and facilitate charitable gifts in a tax efficient manner.

Dan is also highly experienced at managing matters with multiple stakeholders, particularly within a family setting, with a goal of managing existing relationships and minimizing the potential for family conflict in the future.
