Alexander S. Farr Joins Weil as an Associate

International law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP today announced that Alexander S. Farr has joined its Dallas office as an associate in the Firm’s highly regarded Tax, Executive Compensation & Benefits Department.

Prior to joining Weil, Farr was an associate at another international law firm, where he provided federal income and international tax planning for partnerships, corporations and individuals, as well as representation of entities in tax controversies involving complex domestic and international business transactions. He also regularly advised private equity funds, hedge funds, real estate investment trusts and master limited partnerships in a variety of transactional matters, including structuring and facilitating mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations, joint ventures and dispositions, fund formations and private offerings, initial public offerings, securities lending and sale/repurchase transactions, and cross-border investment structuring and analysis.

Farr earned an LL.M in Taxation from the New York University School of Law, and previously completed his J.D., magna cum laude, at the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, where he was managing editor of the Law & Business Review of the Americas and earned Order of the Coif recognition. As an undergraduate, he earned a B.S. in Business Administration, magna cum laude, from Boston University.
