investigation tools – dumpster diving. While the act of going through someone’s trash is 

a hit-and-miss process – not to mention a dirty and smelly process – one can sometimes


glean intimate and signiicant information. Garbage searches can be useful in many types of 


investigation, ranging from domestic and child custody cases to business disputes.
